It would be lovely to see you at our Bergere event. Past events have been great fun with sample garments to see and try on and yarn to feel. Tickets are limited to 20 per session due to space but it's SO worth coming along for the free pattern book (worth £12), not to mention the wine and coffee! See you there!

Hello and welcome to the latest Leven Crafts newsletter. We hope you are having a great Summer, despite the mixed weather. We’ve lots happening here over the coming weeks and months including a wool sale, new workshop programme, dressmaking classes starting, a Bergere de France Autumn/Winter wool event and the completion of our Block of the Month project.
This month sees our Summer Bergere de France yarn sale. We’re making room for the new Autumn/Winter yarns and patterns which will arrive early next month so there are lots of bargains to be had. We’ve got 25% off Berlaine DK, Initial 4 ply, Merinos Alpagas, Baltic Aran and Magic Aran and 30% off any Bergere ‘oddies’ – odd balls which would be great for small projects. Next month there will also be another Drops yarn offer coming along. As soon as we’re told what it’s going to be we’ll let you know. At the end of September we are again holding a Bergere de France wool event to showcase the new Autumn/Winter yarns and patterns. Colin, the Bergere UK Managing Director, will be coming along with lots of garment samples to look at and free pattern books (worth £12) for all who come to the events. They will take place on Thursday 29th September from 7 p.m. and on Friday 30th September from 10.30 a.m. Numbers are strictly limited to 20 for each session (due to space!) and tickets cost £5 which will be refunded on purchases over £25. There will be free refreshments available at each session. Tickets are available now so if you’d like to reserve yours just give us a call on 01287 610207 or e-mail at [email protected] and we’ll put your name on one, or two…! We’ve just launched out new quilting workshop programme from September to December and they are booking up really quickly. We’ve tried to include smaller projects for you this term and lots of new Christmas makes, including a ten minute table runner drop in day which will be fun. Here’s the programme for you and, don’t forget, photos of each workshop sample are here on the website (look under the ‘more’ heading at the top of the home page) and you can book through here too. We also have a new season of dressmaking workshops starting in September for all abilities. If you are a complete beginner our tutor Amy will teach you all you need to know to make your chosen garment, and if you have some experience but are returning to dressmaking after a break, she’ll also help to get you going again. The classes will run on a Monday afternoon from 1.30 until 4 p.m. and on a Tuesday evening from 6.30 until 9 p.m. A block of 4 weeks costs £48 and you can also book through here. October will be the last instalment of our Mystery Block of the Month which has been running since January and getting rave reviews as they say! The final instructions will include a bit of a surprise (our lips are sealed!) and the chance to sign up for next year’s project which won’t be a mystery but will be amazing. We are planning a ‘showcasing’ day when you can drop in and show off your finished quilt – we can’t wait to see them and it will spur you on to completion should you need it! If you haven’t taken part this year but want to be involved next year let us know and we’ll add you to our list and send out the details to you later in the Autumn. And finally, we occasionally get asked if we have knitting classes or a knit and natter group here in the shop and we have had some in the past which have started and stopped for various reasons. We’ll just tell you about a drop-in knitting group that has been growing here in the shop if anyone is interested in coming along. It’s on the first Friday in the month from 10 until noon and all abilities are welcome. That’s all for now but you know where we are if we can help with any of your stitchy queries. Don’t forget to put those dates in your diary and get booking soon. Enjoy the rest of the Summer. Happy stitching! Ruth, Lorna and the Leven Crafts Girls |
