GUISBOROUGH LATE NIGHT OPENING

Guisborough has lots organised for Christmas late night shopping on Tuesday December 1st. Come along, join in the festive fun and visit us for gift ideas and last minute Christmas makes.

OPEN HOUSE - WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 9TH 10AM – 3PM
In order to thank you all for the amazing support you have given this year to us and Zoe’s, we invite you all to join us for mince pies and coffee on Wednesday December 9th. You will be able to see the 2 quilts we started in the summer now finished, photos of the year’s events and to catch up with people you met during our fundraising. The presentation of the quilts and cheque, hopefully with our final total, to Sue Fox of Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice will take place at 2.30pm.

Make a note in you diary – our sale is not to be missed – don’t be late – Sale starts Tuesday December 29th at 9.30am. Large amounts of patchwork fabrics, fat quarters and knitting yarns included in the bargains throughout the shop. Sale ends Saturday January 9th at 4.30 pm.

HOLIDAY OPENING HOURS

We will be open 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday as normal over the festive season but will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Saturday December 26th, Monday December 28th, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

KNIT AND CHAT

Knit and Chat Saturdays for the spring are January 9th, February 20th and March 13th. These sessions are free and it is not necessary to book. Simply call in anytime between 10am and 4pm and enjoy knitting, crochet, plenty of self-help and lots of chat about the latest trends and new ideas. You will be made most welcome, stay for a couple of hours or stay all day! Tea and coffee provided during the day.

SEWING RETREAT – STONEHOUSE HOTEL, SEDBUSK, HAWES – MARCH 12TH - 14TH 2010
We have now booked a further weekend for March 12th – 14th 2010, staying at The Stone House Hotel, Sedbusk near Hawes – an Edwardian country house hotel with wonderful views over Wensleydale, super bedrooms and fantastic food. Why not bring along your partner or a non-stitching friend for a truly relaxing weekend. A workshop will be taught on the Saturday, the project will be bargello. All bedrooms except one single are en-suite. Twin bedded and single rooms are available. The cost of the weekend including 2 night’s dinner, bed and breakfast, lunch, teas and coffees on the Saturday, and the workshop is Ł210. The cost for non-participating partners is Ł190. Please note you will need to make your own way to and from the hotel. Bookings are now being taken, a deposit of Ł30 is required to secure your place which should you need to cancel can only be returned if we can fill your place. The balance will be due 2 weeks prior to the retreat.
SUMMER SPECTACULAR – SUNDAY JULY 18TH TO TUESDAY JULY 20TH
Why not join us for a special three-day luxury break staying right here on our doorstep at Gisborough Hall Hotel. We have organised a 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast package to include either an embroidery or a quilting workshop. A great favourite of ours the award winning quilter Sandie Lush will tutor workshop 1. In ‘Amish quilt’ Sandie will be guiding you through pattern design, Beryl will take you through the cutting and piecing, with Sandie back for the marking and starting you on the hand quilting. Beryl will tutor workshop 2, in ‘Elizabethan Embroidery’ she will be guiding you through marking the designs, working a selection of embroidery stitches on silk with satin and metallic threads and mounting the work in a lovely trinket pot. Participants on the Elizabethan Embroidery will also have the opportunity to work a small project with Sandie. The mid-week break includes 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast, morning coffees and lunches on all 3 days, all tuition and a kit for the project. All you need to bring is your basic sewing kit. We aim to make your stay as relaxing as possible so free time to explore locally or simply sit on the hotel terrace and admire the view has been allowed in the programme. Extra nights at the hotel can be arranged should you wish to extend your stay.
